CD Biosynsis is dedicated to helping customers discover and screen new lysine-producing strains and improve existing strains to achieve large-scale lysine fermentation production.
Lysine is an essential amino acid for humans and animals and is widely used in medicine, food, and feed. The synthetic pathways of lysine are the aspartic acid pathway and the α-aminoadipic acid pathway. A variety of bacteria and fungi are capable of producing lysine, with bacteria producing lysine through the diaminoheptanedioic acid metabolic pathway and yeast producing lysine through the metabolic pathway that produces the 2-aminoadipic acid intermediate. Currently, fermentation is the predominant method for lysine production.

Based on synthetic biology strategies, we are able to optimize the microbial production process of lysine and maximize the potential of the lysine biosynthesis pathway.
Development of Microbial Chassis for Lysine Production

High-throughput Screening to Obtain High-Yielding Strains
We have developed a strain screening method that combines multiple parameters with the fermentation process, and are able to provide high-throughput screening of high-yielding strains of lysine.
Genetic Modification for Strain Improvement
We can help our customers genetically modify engineered lysine strains. For example, overexpression of lysine synthesis-related genes, improvement of gene expression product activity, reduction of branched metabolic flow, etc.
